Title: Executive Director, MERCAZ USA (40% time – see note below regarding combing with a Rabbinical Assembly position)

Position Summary: MERCAZ USA, the Zionist political arm of the Conservative/Masorti Movement in the United States, seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead its national organizing, political engagement, and movement-building efforts.

The Executive Director will oversee MERCAZ USA’s political organizing, communications, data strategy, and resource development while representing the organization within the broader Zionist institutional landscape. This role works in close coordination with MERCAZ Olami, Masorti Movement partners, and major Jewish communal organizations.

The Executive Director will help mobilize American supporters of the Conservative/Masorti movement’s Zionist vision, strengthen institutional partnerships, and expand MERCAZ USA’s leadership network in advance of future World Zionist Congress elections and ongoing advocacy within the Zionist movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead MERCAZ USA’s national organizing efforts, maintaining and expanding a network of more than 280 volunteer leaders who served as captains in the recent World Zionist Congress campaign
  • Strengthen partnerships across the Conservative/Masorti movement and the broader Jewish communal ecosystem, working closely with MERCAZ Olami and international movement partners
  • Represent MERCAZ USA within key Zionist and Jewish communal institutions, including the American Zionist Movement, Conference of Presidents, and World Zionist Congress bodies
  • Develop and oversee communications, educational resources, and advocacy messaging that advance MERCAZ USA’s mission and priorities
  • Cultivate and grow MERCAZ USA’s lay leadership network, membership base, and donor relationships to support long-term organizational sustainability
  • Manage organizational operations, including project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and data systems that support grassroots organizing and movement strategy

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working in the Jewish/Pro-Israel/Zionist communal landscape and cultivating organizational partnerships
  • Experience designing and implementing grassroots campaigns and/or engagement opportunities
  • Experience writing, editing and proofreading educational and advocacy-oriented content
  • Demonstrated drive and ability to develop and maintain relationships with hundreds of key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and execute numerous projects simultaneously, determine priorities, and follow through independently on tasks and assignments
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and both verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as Google Workspace tools and Zoom administration is preferred

Location: United States – Remote

Schedule: Full-time hours (if combined with the Rabbinical Assembly position). Monday through Friday. Requires frequent travel and attendance at evening meetings and weekend programs as needed.

Compensation Range: This role is 40% time (16 hours a week). Salary: $48,000 – $58,000/ year. Can be combined with RA position.
