Pre-Aliyah Timetable

As Soon as Possible:

  • Call the Tnuat AM Shaliach and put yourself on the Tnuat AM mailing list!
  • Begin learning Hebrew

By Two Months Prior to Aliyah Date:

  • Obtain several passport-size photos.
  • All adults and children over 12 to have medical reports completed for aliyah file.
  • Select a shipper (your Aliyah Shaliach will give you information), and decide on a pickup date.
  • Start sorting possessions and decide what is to be sent to Israel, what is to be taken on the plane, and what is to be sold, or given away to relatives or charities.
  • Obtain visa and airfare loan applications from the Israel Aliyah Center

By One Year Prior to Aliyah Date:

  • Open an Aliyah File with the Tnuat AM shaliach.
  • Speak to the shaliach about a pilot trip

By Six Months Prior to Aliyah Date:

  • Begin process of selling your home, if necessary.
For the very long timetable for last month before aliyah date, call the Tnuat AM Shaliach and it will be mailed to you!

By Four Months Prior to Aliyah Date:

  • Renew driverŐs license if it expires within one year.
