New Round of Essay Contest Announced

Attention all teens! The biennial MERCAZ/Women’s League Essay Contest is about to begin. A joint effort of MERCAZ USA, MERCAZ Canada and Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, the competition provides teenagers, ages 14-19, whose families are members of Conservative congregations, to win scholarships for use on any Conservative Movement approved program to Israel.

The deadline for the 500-word essays is Erev Shemini Atseret, Friday, October 13th, with the announcement of the five winners, who will receive awards ranging from $250 to $1000, scheduled to take place during the Women’s League Biennial Convention, November 12-15, 2006, in Philadelphia, PA.
